Kings of the Toronto nighttime world, the Red Light Rippers are leading the charge with straight up, in your face, kick ass rock n’ roll. Influenced by the likes of AC/DC, ZZ Top, Guns n’ Roses and more recently Buckcherry and Jet, the band intuitively bundles it all into a sound all their own.
Rip Skinner (vocals), and Staci T. Rat (guitars), create a dynamic presence live and are solidly backed by Stephane DeBernardi (bass) and Bonz (drums). 2006 has been a busy year for the band, having released Nobody Likes a Rat through Fading Ways, UK. They have enjoyed two UK tours, three compilation CD inclusions and countless dates throughout Ontario, Quebec and the North Eastern US. From the ashes of four of the greatest bands ever to emerge from Vancouver, comes Killrhythm, a sonic assault of beer guzzling power chord mayhem. Formed in late 2003 by Noise Therapy bassist and vocalist Rob Theisen and his drinking buddy Chris “Weasel” Gorst (ex of Holly McNarland), the idea was to form a band for the sake of getting together and drinking a case of beer once a week. The beer was good, but in order to play live, they needed a full band. So the search began, and after sifting through the various music types in the Vancouver talent pool, they acquired guitarist Mykill (who had once played with Theisen on a KISS tribute record), and after a few missteps, Flybanger’s Rob Wade on drums and his band mate, Garth Allen adding a second lead vocal. This two-lead vocal charge is reaping rewards for the band in a more dynamic and more melodic delivery. www.killrhythm.com.
